League Play & Social Play
During open hours, two distinct sessions are offered: League Play and Social Play.
Both are guided by the standards of the National Mah Jongg League, honoring the traditions of American Mahjong while maintaining the polished atmosphere of the Studio. League Play rewards cumulative points, strategy, and measured progression. Social Play celebrates individual wins, connection, and the joy of the hand.
League Play offers a more structured format for members who enjoy playing for points and tracking progress over time. Tables follow established NMJL scoring standards, creating a focused yet welcoming environment where strategy is refined, confidence grows, and performance is measured without losing the ease and grace of the club setting.
Social Play embraces the pleasure of playing for wins. While the standards of the game are respected, the tone is conversational, relaxed, and connection-driven, honoring the long tradition of women gathering around the Mahjong table to learn, laugh, and build friendships across generations.

THE PRIVILEGES OF SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP
Membership at 30A Mahjong Society extends beyond a reserved seat at the table. It includes thoughtful privileges, private courtesies, and elevated details designed to make every visit feel personal, polished, and distinctly part of the Society experience.
Exclusive Society Merchandise
Only members may purchase select 30A Mahjong Society merchandise, created especially for the membership. These pieces are designed as part of the Society identity, available only to those within the circle.
2026 NMJL Card Sticker
Each member receives one complimentary 30A Mahjong Society sticker for her 2026 National Mah Jongg League card, a small but meaningful detail that marks your place within the inaugural culture of the Studio.
Complimentary Studio Beverages
Members enjoy complimentary water and premium coffee beverages during play, thoughtfully prepared from our De’Longhi PrimaDonna coffee machine.
Choose from lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, iced coffee, and more. Whether you begin your morning with coffee at the table or enjoy an afternoon refresh, our beverage service is designed to make every visit feel relaxed, welcoming, and beautifully considered.
Food & Beverage Flexibility
Members are welcome to bring their own food and beverages, or enjoy the ease of ordering from our 30Avenue partners.
Through our dedicated Obscure ordering link, members may order soups, sandwiches, small bottles of wine, charcuterie, and more, delivered directly to the Studio. Order ahead, and your lunch or sip can be waiting when you arrive.
It is one more way we make your time at the table feel effortless, elevated, and entirely enjoyable.
League Eligibility
All members are eligible to participate inthe 30A Mahjong Society League, where play is guided by National Mah Jongg League standards and designed for those who enjoy strategy, scoring, progression, and the discipline of American Mahjong within a refined club setting. May will be practice month and clinics on scoring. League starts June 1st.
Boutique Savings
Members receive 10% off merchandise in the 30A Mahjong Boutique, including select Mahjong accessories, hosting pieces, apparel, gifts, and more. Some tile exclusions may apply.

30A Mahjong Society — Annual Member
For the member who wishes to make Mahjong part of her regular rhythm, the Annual Society Membership offers the most complete access to the 30A Mahjong Society experience.

- Keyless entry for Annual Members (once installed)-must sign keyless entry agreement.
- Priority access to all club events. (Special events excluded.) Includes exclusive member-only gatherings.
- 10% off select tile purchases and 20% off studio clothing, certain exclusions apply.
- Electric Table access at $20 per seat.
- Annual members that pay in full get the use of the Studio for 1 private event per membership agreement.
- Annual members who pay in full receive 2 free guest passes a month (must be 21 and older)
- Annual private party for full 30A Mahjong Society members as a thank you.
Membership is individual and may not be shared. $1800 per year billed annually
30A Mahjong Society — Monthly Member
For the member who wants a more flexible way to enjoy the Studio, the Monthly Society Membership includes eligibility for both member play and league participation.

Membership FAQ
Do I need to know how to play Mahjong?
Yes. 30A Mahjong Society Membership does not include lessons, so members should know the basics of American Mahjong before joining Society play.
After completing lessons or once you feel comfortable with the fundamentals, you are welcome to begin playing during Society sessions. To make the experience more comfortable for newer players, we will designate beginner-friendly tables so you can continue building confidence at the right pace.
It is one more way we help new players feel welcomed, prepared, and beautifully supported at the table.
Can I book a reservation for a friend?
No. Membership is private and individual, so each member will need to book her own reservation through her own membership account.
When making reservations you may request to sit with another member. You may also call the Studio, and we will be happy to make a note on your reservation.
Can I bring a guest to Society Play? Family?
Yes, simply book as normal for non-member play. If you are a Society Member with an Annual account, you get 2 passes a month, please call the studio to book.
Can I bring my own wine, Diet Coke, or preferred beverage?
Yes. Society Members may bring their own food and beverages during ANY play session.
Please note that outside food and beverages may not be permitted during special ticketed events, such as tournaments or curated Studio events.
Can I bring a guest during Open Play?
Yes. Visitors, guests, vacationers, and non-members are welcome during designated Open Play times.
These sessions are designed so everyone can experience the Studio, enjoy a beautifully styled table, and play Mahjong at 30A Mahjong Studio & Boutique without a Society Membership.
How far in advance may Society Members book?
At this time, Society Members may book reservations four to six weeks in advance.
This window may be adjusted as membership needs evolve. Our goal is to remain as flexible as possible while also ensuring that seats remain thoughtfully available for all members.
As the Society grows, we will continue refining the reservation experience to protect table availability, preserve ease of booking, and maintain the elevated rhythm of member play.
Are Pop-Up Shopping Events included?
Yes. Pop-Up Shopping Events are included for all Society Members. These are relaxed, come-and-go events and do not require a booking credit or reservation.
Members will receive private invitations to these shopping experiences, featuring curated vendors, trunk shows, seasonal finds, and special boutique moments created especially for the Society.
